  Make The Right Choice

There are a variety of things to consider when selecting a tree care company, listed below are a set of guidelines that help you select the right tree care company for the job.
Membership in professional organizations
Membership in organizations such as the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and the National Arborist Association (NAA)- demonstrates a willingness to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and information.
Ask for proof of insurance
A reputable arborist will have personal and property damage insurance as well as worker’s compensation insurance. Homeowners could be held responsible for damages and injuries that occur as a result of the job if the contracted company or individual is uninsured.
Ask for references
Don’t hesitate to ask for and check references or visit other worksites where the company or individual has done tree work.
Get more than one estimate
It may take more time, but it will be worth the investment.
Be wary of individuals that go door-to-door
Most reputable companies are too occupied to solicit business in this manner. Improper tree care can take many years to correct itself, and in some cases, can never be corrected—be careful.
Don’t always accept the low bid
Make your determination based on the best combination of price, work to be done, skill and professionalism to protect your investment.
Get it in writing
Ask for a contract that includes:
When will the work be started and completed?
Who will be responsible for clean-up?
What is the total price?
